From My Homestead Kitchen to Yours:

Stock Your Pantry With Real Food All Year Long — Without the Overwhelm

Free 5-Day Workshop with Melissa K. Norris
April 20th – 24th from 10am – 1pm PT

Safe, simple, and chemical-free food preservation the way your great-grandma did it—only better

Ever looked at your grocery receipt and surely the checker made a mistake, how on earth could it cost that much?
Or wondered what’s really in the food you’re feeding your family?

You’re not alone.

You want to feel good about what’s on your table: real, nutritious food, not frankenfood and food-like junk.

What you need isn’t more information. You need a clear, simple plan — what to preserve, when to do it, and how to fit it into your real life. That’s exactly what this workshop gives you.

Imagine walking into your kitchen and:

  • Knowing exactly what foods to grow, buy, or source each season because you have a clear preservation plan for the year

  • Preserving food little by little throughout the season instead of feeling overwhelmed when harvest time suddenly arrives

  • Cutting your grocery bill while eating better than ever by turning seasonal produce into year-round nutrition that costs pennies compared to store-bought alternatives

  • Opening your pantry to find shelves of wholesome food you preserved yourself — garden vegetables, homemade broths, sauces, fermented foods, and more

  • Having complete confidence in your preservation methods because you understand exactly how to can, ferment, dehydrate, and store foods safely

  • Knowing exactly what’s in every jar because you put it there — no artificial preservatives, no high fructose corn syrup, no dyes or mystery ingredients

“I ended up with 400 jars of vegetables at the end of our first season with the class. I am now getting ready to can beets for the first time. I still have tomatoes growing for sauce and diced tomatoes. It is a blessing to continue to learn ways to help us be more self sufficient.”

— Cheryl O.

Hi there!

I’m Melissa K. Norris — fifth-generation homesteader, bestselling author of five books, and the host of the Pioneering Today Podcast. For over 25 years, I’ve been teaching hundreds of thousands of home cooks and homesteaders how to grow, preserve, and cook real food from scratch. I’ve been featured on the Magnolia Network’s Back to the Frontier, National Geographic, Forbes, and the Epoch Times.

Fifteen years ago a mudslide blocked the only road to our grocery stores for nearly a year. My husband’s hours were cut. We had two kids at home. Our well-stocked pantry of home-preserved food is the reason we ate well through all of it — and the reason I became obsessed with teaching these skills to everyone who would listen.

That experience showed me something crucial: having the skills to preserve your own food isn’t just about saving money or eating healthy (though it definitely does both). It’s about having complete confidence in your ability to feed your family well, no matter what life throws your way.

That’s exactly why I’m passionate about teaching others these essential preservation methods. Because whether you’re dealing with busy weeknights, rising grocery prices, or just wanting more control over what goes into your family’s food, these are skills that will serve you for a lifetime.

“Your posts and tutorials show your love of teaching others how to be more self sufficient, whether they are homesteaders, yard gardeners, or people like me who get their produce from local Farmers Markets. When I think about what I’ve learned and accomplished, I know this class is truly one of the best investments I’ve ever made in my family’s health and well-being. Thank you, Melissa!”

Let Me Answer Some Questions I Often Hear…

“I’m a complete beginner – will this be too advanced for me?”

Not at all! I’ve designed this course so anyone can transform their kitchen, breaking down each preservation method into simple, manageable steps. We’ll start with the basics and build your confidence day by day.

“I work full-time – how will I find time to preserve food?”

As someone who’s worked full-time (sometimes two jobs) with a long commute while raising a family, I get it! I’ll show you my time-saving systems that make food preservation doable even with a busy schedule. Plus, replays are available for one week if you can’t catch them live.

“Do I need special equipment or a lot of kitchen space?”

Most of the methods I’ll teach require only basic kitchen tools you likely already have. While some methods like pressure canning do require specific equipment, I’ll show you plenty of preservation techniques that don’t need anything fancy. Even a small kitchen can become an efficient preservation workspace with the right setup.

“What if I’m worried about food safety?”

Safety is my top priority! I’ll teach you up-to-date research-based methods that take the guesswork out of food preservation. You’ll learn exactly what makes each method safe, how to know your preserved foods are properly sealed, and how to store them correctly.

“I’ve tried preserving food before and failed – why would this time be different?”

Many of my most successful students started with failed attempts at preservation. The difference? Having clear, step-by-step guidance and understanding the ‘why’ behind each method. I’ll show you exactly where most people go wrong and how to get consistent, safe results every time.
