Did you know that you were called by God?
encouraging, comforting, and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory. 1Thessalonians 2:12
God has called you into a relationship with Him. He wants every aspect of your life to shine with His glory. Isn’t that amazing? That He wants each and every one of us.
Not only does He want us, but He places a specific calling, a commission, on each of us to serve Him and touch other’s with His love.
As a Christian, I felt that something was missing from my life. I had a good marriage, two children, a steady job, a warm home, but I felt this restlessness. That somehow, my life wasn’t complete.
I’d always wanted to be a published author, from the time I was a little girl, I’ve had a love for the written word. But, I reached the point where I wanted to do what God had called me to do. So I gave my writing to Him. I asked if I was to pursue writing for Him, that He would make it clear, and if not, that He would show me what I was to do for Him.
Because we are all called to do something for Him.
He showed me, by using another one of His servants, that I was to write for Him and pursue publication. I’m so glad He’s directing my path towards publication, but I know, if He’d chosen me for something else, I’d be delighted in that, too.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
Your calling may not be writing like mine, but He does have a calling for you. It may be baking something for a neighbor who needs a visitor, volunteering at a homeless shelter, teaching Sunday school. If you’re unsure of your calling, spend time in prayer. Ask God and He will show you.
