Some of my favorite quilts

There’s something about a quilt that makes you want to wrap up in it, sip a cup of steaming cocoa, and read a book by the fire.

I’ve always admired our pioneer women for the beautiful quilts they made. A thing of beauty of necessity when they didn’t have forced air heating systems. Of course, sometimes I wish I wasn’t using our wood stove when I sweep up the chunks of wood for the umpteenth time.

We have tons of stores and websites dedicated to making our home beautiful, but sometimes the only thing the pioneers had to add color and beauty to the inside of their homes was the quilts.

Here’s a picture of a star quilt I’m slowly finishing for my living room. I’ve pieced, sewn, and quilted it all by hand.

After I finish this one, I’d love to attempt this beauty!
