Book Review and Giveaway of Over the Edge by Mary Connealy

I expected Mary Connealy’s western historical, Over the Edge, to be a fun quick read. I enjoy a good cowboy book and the cover promised a handsome cowboy, don’t you think?

It held up to its promises and then some.

There was plenty of horses, cowboys, and cowgirls. What I didn’t expect was the struggle inside all of us between good and evil. Both the villian and the hero had to fight the most evil of all, what lies inside our heart.

With a cavern and underground tunnels, fossils, and diamonds, Over the Edge, kept me on the edge of my seat too.

Here’s a few lines from the back cover.

Seth Kincaid remembers almost everything…..except getting married.

Seth is willing to make amends. Callie is more interested in shooting him. Can they rekindle their love before one of them goes over the edge?

I recommend reading this western for more than just the blue-eyed cowboy on the front cover. I received this book for free from Bethany House in exchange for my honest review. And I’m offering up my copy to you! (If you’re reading this via RSS or email, click through to enter the giveaway)

    • Melody you win for sweetest comment. My husband doesn’t wear a cowboy hat, but he takes excellent care of our small beef cattle herd. And doesn’t everyone love the Duke?

  1. Hi, Melissa. I’m so glad you enjoyed the book! Good luck everyone in the drawing. Are we supposed to name our favorite cowboy?
    Wow, tough question.
I’m a huge cowboy fan. John Wayne. Clint Eastwood. I loved Tom Selleck in Quigley Down Under. Sam Elliot makes a great cowboy. I’m a big Louis L’Amour fan, especially the Sacketts.
I have this policy when I’m writing. If I research history and it disagrees with John Wayne and/or Louis L’Amour…I go with John and Louis. Even if they’re wrong, everyone’s gonna believe it like they told it and think I’M WRONG, so why fight it???
    :)

    • Thanks for stopping by, Mary! I did enjoy your book.

I think your research technique is great, in fact, I’m gonna steal it. lol

When I was researching snake bite techniques, they all said trying to spit out the venom wasn’t really effective, but no one would believe my hero if he didn’t try. :)
