Do you ever watch the news and wonder where God is? With over 7 billion people on this earth, I can’t help but think He can’t have time for me and my problems, when there are so many catastrophic things going on. I know this isn’t true, but sometimes I struggle with feeling insignificant.

My family and I went camping this weekend and while gazing on this view from our campsite, God spoke to me. There are over 1.2 million plant species known at this time. I can’t possibly begin to recognize or name a fraction of them.

But the above picture is a blanket of foxgloves. These bell-shaped flowers practically ring over the fields and ditches of my home state during early summer. They are beautiful to look at. See the up close view of the petals, how it looks as if little fox feet left prints inside.

Not only are the fox glove gorgeous to view, but they are used in the common prescription drug, Digoxin, for patients with heart failure.

All of that in one little plant. One plant of over 1.2 million others.

If God put that much detail and importance on one flower, how much more valuable are you? 

Too many times, I put my own human limitations on God.

I can’t be everywhere at once. I can’t focus on work and what needs to be done at home at the same time. My mind isn’t able to give equal attention to more than one thing at once.

The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good. Proverbs 15:3

God is everywhere. We can’t understand and fathom His ways, which is why He is God and we are not. We can only worship at His feet, thankful that He holds each of us in the palm of His hand.

So when you feel insignificant or wonder where God is, remember He is right there with you. He is everywhere, from the flowers of the field, to the stray dandelion in the cracked sidewalk.
