Pioneering Today-Re-purposed Picture, Art With Meaning

The pioneers hardly ever threw anything away. They learned to fix what was broken or find another use for it. We could stand to do more of that today.

My daughter just turned three and her bedroom needed updated from the infant decor I still had up. I hated to toss away the Winnie the Pooh picture, so instead, I decided to redo it.

New Picture-Daughter of the King

I wanted something that had meaning and could grow with her. I’ve always loved the expression, “Daughter of the King.” I can’t think of a better message for her to learn.

Little girls love to play princess, but few realize they are a princess. Her eyes lit up when I told her Jesus was the King and because she was His daughter, she was a real princess.

I sat and pondered this for a moment. Do I really believe I have a royal inheritance? It’s so easy to forget, but we belong to a kingdom. With the world’s love of fantasy, we don’t have to play a game, we belong to the most wise and loving king ever.

I want you to look in the mirror today and remind yourself, You are a daughter of the King. You are loved, you are precious, and nothing can separate you from that.

If you’d like to make your own picture to remind you, simply find some fabric that strikes your fancy. Iron it and using double-sided tape, adhere the fabric to the matting. I printed out the saying using font size 38 and a dark brown ink color. Tape the paper to the center of the fabric, secure in frame, and hang!
