Yes, you read that right, winners. I truly wish I had enough seed to give everyone who entered a packet. I promise to let two plants go to seed so next spring I have enough for everyone. (If you haven’t, click on the sign me up button on my home page so you don’t miss future giveaways! I try to run about one a month.)
However, I asked my mom if she had any extra seed. Now, instead of one winner, we have FIVE!
The winners are:
1. Johnna
2. Lindsay Horne
3. Jaimee Porter
4. Sherrie Lou
5. Coni
Congrats! Winners please email me your mailing address at
melissaknorris(at)juno(dot)com and put Seed Winner in the subject line.
I put my order in for all heirloom seeds in my garden this year and can’t wait to share tasty recipes, gardening, and preserving fun with you. I want to thank everyone who participated and I look forward to getting to know you.
Blessings,
Melissa

Congrats to the winners! I finally got most of my garden planted and was very excited to find some heirloom Brandywine tomato plants at the local co-op. Can’t wait to see how they turn out!
Gail, I’m planning on getting my tomato plants from a local farm that does heirloom varieties. Brandywine sounds yummy. I need to find some good sweet potatoes starts too.
I’ll have to let you know how my Brandywines turn out. My favorite tomato down here in Louisiana are Creole tomatoes. We planted those last year and they were fabulous!! I planted those again, too, along with some Big Beef that my husband wanted to try. I think I’ll have enough tomatoes for the whole neighborhood!
Just wanted to post an update about the Brandywine tomatoes: they are amazing!!! I will definitely be planting them again next year. I highly recommend trying them out, if they are available in your area.
Thanks for the update, Gail! We got off to a very wet start, even or the Pacific Northwest, so my tomatoes are just blossoming right now. I can’t wait to begin the harvest. I’ve got the Brandywines down to try and start from seed next year.
The one awesome thing about us gardener’s is we like to share. I enjoy swapping favorites w/ neighbors and family. I used my second to last jar of stewed tomatoes making baked ziti last night. I plan on putting in a few more tomato plants this year so I have enough to make it til summer. I wonder if I can find Creole tomatoes up here. Sounds yummy!
